Cleaning

At the application of undercoat (UBS) the surfaces, threated bolts and threaded holes at the underbody are partly wetted with the liquid UBS mass. This causes problems during final assembly of the vehicles.

To avoid this, the UBS plant follows up with the cleaning of the relevant areas. This is where robots, with a special application head, are cleaning the above-mentioned areas. The head consists of several air blasting nozzles, which are supplied to the cleaning of the surfaces and threads as considered, and a special threaded bolts cleaning unit.

Additionally there is a special gripping tool for the areas protected with plastic stencils, for example the suspension strut mount, which picks up the stencils and transports them to a conveyer belt.
